About The Position

The Machine Operator is a training position through which Associates may advance to a machine operator. They will learn to operate extrusion lines and produce vinyl siding products and accessories, ensuring that extruder outputs are consistent with product specifications and that quality assurance standards are maintained by inspecting finished product for consistency. This role involves learning to manage extrusion line performance through understanding the ratio of good pounds to salvage to make timely decisions regarding line status, maintaining standard run conditions, and notifying help when deviations may be required. The position also requires accurate performance of pre-start checks of all equipment, gauges, etc., and adherence to 5S standards for housekeeping duties. The Machine Operator will monitor other associates to ensure consistency and quality of product packed, and complete all extrusion, quality assurance, and safety-related paperwork accurately and legibly.
