In return, we want you to be hands-on, roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery essential to pallet repair and assembly line production. This position will also be responsible for preparing tools and equipment for production and assembly line use, ensuring seamless operations, and maintaining a high level of efficiency. The Machine Operator will monitor equipment functionality, identify, and address minor jams, and report larger issues to the preventative maintenance team. The primary goal is to operate machinery safely and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of the production process.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with the operation and minor maintenance of production machinery.
  • Proven experience as a Machine Operator or similar role in a manufacturing setting.
  • Understanding of quality control procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience operating a Bandsaw Machine or equivalent tool preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and prepare tools and equipment for production and assembly line use.
  • Ensure that all necessary materials and components are available and in proper quantities.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify any issues with tools and equipment before operation.
  • Operates equipment that cuts wood and wood products to specified lengths.
  • Operate machinery to support product and material flow along the production line.
  • Monitor equipment functionality, looking out for jams, glitches, or irregularities.
  • Address minor jams and disruptions promptly to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
  • Report any larger equipment issues or malfunctions to the technical maintenance team.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure a smooth production flow.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following company safety standards.
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately.
  • Lift and carry 77lbs at least 33% of their work shift.
