About The Position

Allfast Fastening Systems LLC is seeking a Machine Operator for their 2nd shift (1:30pm-10:00pm) at their City of Industry, CA location. This role involves assisting the Blind Header Operator in manufacturing precision aircraft quality fasteners using single and/or multi-die headers. The position requires training on the 1st shift, with the duration varying based on work experience. The operator will be responsible for reading and interpreting documents, operating machinery, making adjustments to meet specifications, monitoring production runs with measuring devices, maintaining quality and productivity levels, performing minor preventative maintenance, and adhering to safety regulations. Record keeping and data entry are also part of the duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 0-1 years’ experience in machines; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Blind Header Operator in reading and interpreting documents (blueprints, drawings, manufacturing work orders) to determine necessary tools and materials for producing parts to precision tolerance for aircraft specifications.
  • Assist the Blind Header Operator in operating assigned headers and related products on a production basis, including making adjustments to produce parts to specifications.
  • Select, mount, and align tooling attachments and materials in the proper order and relationship.
  • Make adjustments necessary to produce parts of acceptable quality.
  • Assist the Blind Header Operator in loading machines with raw material and monitoring production runs using measuring devices (comparators, micrometers, calipers, inspect gauges).
  • Assist the Blind Header Operator in keeping accurate statistical process control records when required, making adjustments during production runs as SPC data directs.
  • Assist the Blind Header Operator in meeting and maintaining all productivity levels and quality requirements to support departmental goals and schedules.
  • Assist the Blind Header Operator in performing minor preventative maintenance on assigned machines.
  • Assist the Blind Header Operator in performing record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and following safety regulations.
