About The Position

The Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts. This role involves understanding and following safety rules, operating computerized and material handling equipment, performing routine preventive maintenance, and marking parts with necessary identification. The operator will interpret blueprints and technical data to select correct materials and maintain continuous improvement practices in their work area. Other projects and duties may be assigned by the Team Leader.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

Responsibilities

Understands and follows safety rules and precautions necessary for working in and around a manufacturing environment.
Ability to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, or paint quality finished or semi-finished parts.
Ability to operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment.
Performs routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation.
Marks part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts. Attaches identification tags as required for customer to have the ability locate correct parts.
Interprets blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semi-finished parts.
Maintains continuous improvement practices in work area.
May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader.
