About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery to produce parts according to job specifications. This role involves setting up machines, monitoring operations, inspecting workpieces, performing minor maintenance, and ensuring quality standards are met. The operator must also adhere to all safety policies and accurately complete required documentation.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in English.
Ability to write, fill out paperwork and keep track of time in English.
Ability to comprehend written and oral job instructions in English.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to bend and lift up to 45 pounds.
Proper lifting techniques required.

Responsibilities

Accept materials for assigned jobs and evaluate them before beginning.
Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments, material requirements, and understand the process.
Fill out sequences at every operation completed.
Position workpieces and align layout marks.
Activate machine, obtain first run workpiece, inspect it, and verify dimensional tolerances before continuing.
Select and set machine speed and feed according to operation type, material, and finish.
Follow up with team lead for any questions.
Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunction.
Complete first piece and last piece comparisons throughout the run.
Perform operations to acceptable quality standards.
Pack, stack, and mark parts if required.
Transport finished workpieces.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Accurately complete all documentation.
Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
Perform housekeeping duties around the work center.
