Machine Operator
About The Position
Join the A-Team at AmeriLux Family of Companies (AFoC) as a Machine Operator. Starting pay is $20–$35 per hour, depending on experience and shift. The position works 12-hour shifts, Monday through Thursday, either 5 AM–5 PM or 5 PM–5 AM, with overtime opportunities available. The Machine Operator manages material conveying and feeding, operates and adjusts production equipment, and monitors product quality throughout production. The role includes troubleshooting alarms and processing issues, performing machine maintenance and adjustments, supporting timely changeovers, and disposing of waste properly.
Requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot machines.
- Ability to stand for 12 consecutive hours.
- Ability to pull, lift, or carry at least 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform in a hot environment.
- Effective communication with team members and upper management.
Responsibilities
- Manage the material conveying process, including big bag or bulk offloading.
- Monitor and troubleshoot material feeding systems to maintain continuous and consistent material flow.
- Set up, start, operate, and shut down equipment, completing project setups for quality production.
- Adjust machine controls during operation to maintain optimal performance.
- Perform machine maintenance and adjustments to meet product specifications and quality standards.
- Respond to alarms and resolve issues promptly to maintain operational efficiency.
- Inspect production throughout the process to ensure finished products meet standards.
- Address processing issues to deliver customer requirements within business needs.
- Understand customer issues arising from upstream conveyance, forming, and cutting processes to support efficient, timely changeovers and minimize downtime.
- Follow proper waste disposal procedures to prevent environmental pollution.
