Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous warehouse experience is preferred.
  • Must be Class 2 MHE Narrow Aisle certified.
  • Able to safely operate Narrow Aisle Order Picker and Forklift/Turret trucks.
  • Able to perform continuous lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Bending, pulling, and stretching required throughout shift.
  • Able to work at heights of 20 plus ft on Narrow Aisle Order Picker.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading, sorting, checking, and warehousing inbound freight from suppliers and vendors.
  • Checking for accuracy of container number prior to accepting shipment.
  • Noting any container damage prior to accepting shipment and alerting the Warehouse Supervisor immediately.
  • Efficiently unloading inbound trailers and loading transfer trailers as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Working cohesively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Performing High and Mid-Bay location maintenance, using RF system, to meet minimum standards of accuracy.
  • Redirecting any returns, packages, and mail that arrive via the receiving doors to the appropriate department or end user.
  • Accurately and efficiently putting away orders.
  • Prioritizing the putaway of all back-ordered inventory.
  • Ensuring all locations are maintained with the highest level of safety in mind.
  • Performing 3PL picking/load out/putaway.
  • Responsible for picking of weekly inventory transfers.
  • Keeping clear and concise records of 3PL inventory movement.
  • Maintaining inventory of all receiving supplies (e.g., tape, shrink wrap, pallets).
  • Assisting in making arrangements for load outs.
  • Communicating with QC, Outbound, and Purchasing on receiving irregularities.
  • Maintaining a neat and tidy work area (e.g., receiving floor, outside dock area).
  • Participating in the inventory cycle count program.
  • Identifying and verifying quantities, codes, and colors of incoming receivables.
  • Checking for damaged cases/damaged product at point of receival; signing bill of lading appropriately and clearly, noting damage or shortage.
  • Reporting any discrepancies between packing slips and actual inbound freight to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Optimizing storage space through product consolidations.
  • Stacking wooden pallets and shipping boxes in a safe and organized manner.
  • Assisting in the configuration of racking for high bay locations.
  • Performing daily checks on MHE (material handling equipment).
  • Assisting QC in the sortation of QC products and special customer picks.
  • Reporting any problems with equipment without delay.
  • Actively participating in process analysis and improvement activities.
  • Adhering to current and future company policies and standards to ensure a safe and agreeable working environment.
  • Assisting in other areas of the warehouse and additional duties as required by management.
  • Informing Inventory Control of any case lot deficiencies.
  • Participating in general warehouse meetings.
  • Working in cooperation and communicating effectively with all levels of the SanMar Canada team.
  • Keeping co-workers informed of activities that have implications to their departments.
  • Openly communicating any successes, concerns, or problems related to the job.
