About The Position

This position will report to the Supervisor and is a Full-Time Regular, Non-Exempt role on Shift 1. The pay range is $18.00 - $23.50. Bolthouse Fresh Foods is a leader in carrot production, serving as a grower, packer, processor, and shipper. Headquartered in Bakersfield, California, they employ 1,600 individuals and are one of North America's largest growers and distributors of fresh carrots. Requirements

  • High school/GED, or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates must have a verifiable history of safe vehicle operation and meet company standards for driving eligibility.
  • Maintaining a clean driving record, which will be verified through a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a machine shop or roller shop environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and/or relevant mechanical experience.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the refurbishment of plant rollers, including the installation and removal of belting.
  • Removal and replacement of damaged bearings on shafts using a hydraulic press, torches, and plasma cutters.
  • Straightening of rollers to required specifications.
  • Unloading materials from delivery trucks using a forklift.
  • Assisting with cutting metal, plastic, and other materials in the saw area.
  • Supplying the machine shop and fabricators with materials required for parts, assemblies, plant operations, and inventory.
  • Supporting the maintenance of shop machinery and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Providing general assistance within the shop as needed.
  • Examine and inspect work rollers.
  • Interpret specifications, including blueprints, to determine construction requirements and plan procedures.
  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools to produce precision rollers.
  • Monitor machining processes on various shop equipment.
  • Measure, examine, and test completed rollers to identify defects and verify conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
  • Review blueprints, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to fabricate roller products.
  • Maintain quality control for all parts, operations, and job sequences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
