About The Position

Volt is immediately hiring for a Machine Operator in Valencia, CA. As a Machine Operator, you will read blueprints or work orders for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be machined, and tooling instructions such as cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts, and cutting tools to be used. You will set up machines for yourself and/or others to run jobs involving higher degrees of complexity, position and secure specified taps to called out specifications, and install and adjust specified tooling to control stock and tool movements. You will also set cutting speeds and feed rates, start the machine, observe operation, and inspect the first run and sample workpiece to ensure machining conforms to specifications, and replace worn tools. This is a Full Time Opportunity with 1st and 2nd shifts available. Must be flexible for possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Reads blueprint or work order for product specifications such as dimensions, tolerances, number of parts to be machined, and tooling instructions such as cutting speeds, feed rates, depth of cuts, and cutting tools to be used.
• Sets up machines for self and/or others to run jobs involving higher degrees of complexity.
• Positions and secures specified taps to called out specifications.
• Installs and adjusts specified tooling to control stock and tool movements.
• Sets cutting speeds and feed rates.
• Starts machine, observes operation, and inspects first run and sample workpiece to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
• Replaces worn tools.
