About The Position

Operate a variety of heat-treating equipment, including pre-heat and high-heat gas and electric fired furnaces, induction heat, stress, cooling, and demagnetizing equipment. This role involves determining sequences of operations, loading and unloading furnaces, setting up various equipment, and monitoring performance to ensure optimal results and adherence to customer requirements.

Requirements

1-3 years in manufacturing and machine operations.
Ability to read and interpret drawings/blue prints and routing information so as to meet customer expectations.
Ability to manage time and work flow to best optimize efficiency for the department.
Strong communication skills to facilitate productive and consistent handling per customer requirements.
Strong personal organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of numbers).
Effective interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated and directed, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

Determine sequences of varied operations to obtain optimum results from scheduled parts to be processed.
Load pre-heat and high-heat furnaces and bring up to prescribed temperatures.
Unload parts and place in proper stressing equipment.
Set rectifiers, set-up jigs, temperatures, cycles, stress and cooling period, pack and loading method as prescribed.
Set-up and operate induction heater, adjust controllers to obtain specified heat.
Load draw barrels, check and observe performance.
Investigate cause for machine shut-off.
Check and observe indicating of recording equipment; match reading with settings; adjust power input report with apparent discrepancies.
Assist in maintenance and repair of furnaces.
Maintain job and production records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work from written and verbal instructions.
Comply with all plant and safety rules and regulations.
Ensure that work areas are kept clean and orderly.
