About The Position

This role involves performing as a coater operator on the facility's coating machine, applying various types of adhesives to substrate in preparation for operations. The operator will follow work order instructions to determine specifications, materials, and adjustments to ensure quality coating with minimum downtime and waste. Responsibilities include cleaning equipment, operating computers, completing daily paperwork, and maintaining production records. The position also involves performing various tasks in support of production operations, applying job skills and company policies to complete assigned tasks, and working on problems of moderate scope requiring analysis of various factors. The role requires judgment within defined procedures, building productive working relationships, and learning/following standardized work. Additionally, the operator will utilize visual management, apply lean concepts to make and implement recommendations for process improvements, and may be assigned other duties consistent with the position's focus and department goals.

Requirements

Typically requires a HS or GED and equivalent relevant experience.
Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn ERP system.
Ability to wear a respirator for coatings positions.

Responsibilities

Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

Normally follows established procedures on routine work, requires instructions only on new assignments.
Must learn and follow standardized work that has been created within assigned role.
Utilize visual management.
Developing professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues.
Applying lean concepts, make and implement recommendations for process improvements.
