About The Position

Elmet Technologies is hiring a 2nd Shift Machine Operator – Furnace/Sintering to join their manufacturing team in Euclid, Ohio. This is a hands-on job with strong pay, great benefits, and the opportunity to build valuable manufacturing skills. The role involves operating and monitoring specialized furnaces and equipment used to manufacture high-performance metal products. The company provides hands-on training to learn specialized furnaces, equipment, safety procedures, and manufacturing processes. This position is full-time, 2nd Shift, at their Euclid, Ohio manufacturing facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators
  • Can perform basic arithmetic
  • Can interpret and follow specifications and production requirements
  • Can follow written and verbal instructions
  • Can communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English

  • 1-3 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience
  • Ability to use measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and attendance
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a production environment

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing experience is helpful, but it is not required. If you’ve worked in manufacturing, warehousing, construction, automotive, maintenance, food production, equipment operation, skilled trades, or another hands-on environment, you may already have skills that can help you succeed at Elmet.
  • Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or industrial equipment preferred
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate production furnaces and/or boxes
  • Prepare furnaces and materials for production
  • Select the proper bricks for loading parts
  • Visually inspect and properly handle green and finished parts
  • Safely load and unload parts and materials, including sand
  • Monitor and record furnace speed and temperature and make appropriate adjustments when needed
  • Inspect parts and accurately record results using tools such as micrometers, dial calipers, and dial indicators
  • Identify production orders and maintain accurate product traceability
  • Follow established safety procedures, including procedures for loss of power involving hydrogen
  • Complete required production and inspection records
  • Keep your work area clean, safe, and organized
  • Perform other production duties as assigned by group leaders or supervisors
  • Safely operate production equipment to meet quality, delivery, and productivity goals
  • Perform machine setups, changeovers, and process monitoring according to production schedules
  • Conduct equipment inspections and maintain housekeeping standards (5S)
  • Assist with troubleshooting and minor equipment maintenance activities
  • Maintain accurate production records, work orders, and inventory transactions
  • Ensure product traceability and compliance with quality requirements
  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other industrial equipment
  • Cross-train on multiple machines and support departmental needs as required
