About The Position

Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Machine Operator - Shotpeen. This role is responsible for supporting and maintaining the robotic shot peening process as required. The work shift is Weekday Afternoon (Monday - Thursday, 4x10 schedule, from 4:00 pm to 2:00 am).

Requirements

  • High school diploma, with a minimum of one year of relevant manufacturing experience.
  • Strong PC skills and understanding of written work instructions.
  • Demonstrated experience in material handling and hoist operations required.
  • The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner.

Responsibilities

  • Setup equipment by loading and unloading of robotic shotpeen work centers.
  • Follow part process techniques, operation sketches and special handler instructions, to include, but not limited to loading/unloading of shot peen machines and airflow, intensity and pressure techniques.
  • Work alongside Process Technicians to optimize machines and produce quality parts.
  • Monitor and optimize efficiencies of the automated line.
  • Read OP sketches and work instructions to identify with requirements.
  • Minimize and mitigate machine downtime through the use of the ANDON system.
  • Maintain acceptable production, quality levels, and departmental equipment, as well as practice safety in the workplace and maintain good housekeeping.
  • Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
