Machine Shop - Shotpeen Operator - Weekend Night Shift
About The Position
Collins Aerospace is looking to hire a Machine Operator - Shotpeen. This role will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the robotic shot peening process as required. The work shift is Weekend Night, from Friday to Sunday, 6:00 pm to 6:00 am. The Advanced Structures team leverages advanced materials and additive manufacturing to develop complex interior and exterior solutions that ensure structural integrity, assist in aircraft takeoff and landing, maintain trim, enable forward movement, carry cargo, and conduct rescues. The team aims to delight customers with superior products and best-in-class service, focusing on continuous improvement to make solutions lighter-weight, stronger, and more technically advanced for safer, more affordable, and more sustainable air travel.
Requirements
- High school diploma, with a minimum of one year of relevant manufacturing experience.
- Strong PC skills and understanding of written work instructions.
- Demonstrated experience in material handling and hoist operations required.
- The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP.
Nice To Haves
- Demonstrated ability to operate and use an overhead crane in a safe manner.
Responsibilities
- Setup equipment by loading and unloading of robotic shotpeen work centers.
- Follow part process techniques, operation sketches and special handler instructions, to include, but not limited to loading/unloading of shot peen machines and airflow, intensity and pressure techniques.
- Work alongside Process Technicians to optimize machines and produce quality parts.
- Monitor and optimize efficiencies of the automated line.
- Read OP sketches and work instructions to identify with requirements.
- Minimize and mitigate machine downtime through the use of the ANDON system.
- Maintain acceptable production, quality levels, and departmental equipment, as well as practice safety in the workplace and maintain good housekeeping.
- Support and promote continuous improvement, 5S activities and Standard Work Development in the cell.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
