About The Position

This role involves performing daily functions as explained and demonstrated by a lead man/supervisor within allocated timeframes and company standards. The Machine Operator will support the assembly floor by performing typical machine shop and mold press operations. Key responsibilities include detecting and reporting defective materials or questionable conditions, performing prescribed preventative maintenance on machines, and executing tasks such as milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and all bench operations. The operator must be able to observe and act upon machine malfunction warnings and alarm signals, possess a basic understanding of machine functions, and be willing to accept frequent supervision and assistance with machine set-up. Maintaining a safe and clean working environment, complying with all work-related activities ethically and consistently, and being a productive, proactive team member are essential. Adherence to all safety standards and company policies, including mandatory safety training, is required. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to climb or balance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, climb, and squat, for prolonged periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • A good attitude and common sense required.
  • Must be a team player and work well with others.
  • Able to understand and follow instructions/directions.
  • Must be available to work weekends and/or overtime.
  • Must be able to work and concentrate in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to wear protective equipment such as earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, boots, respirators, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Minimum 1 year of factory-related experience.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.

  • Familiarity with basic machine functions to perform tasks.
  • Willingness to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with machine set-up.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily functions as explained and demonstrated by lead man/supervisor in the time allocated per company standards.
  • Perform typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floor.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
  • Perform milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and all bench operations and inspect.
  • Observe and act upon machine malfunction warnings and alarm signals.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Comply with all work related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  • Be a productive, proactive, and contributing team member in a fast paced environment.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and company policies including attending mandatory safety training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
