About The Position

This role involves performing daily functions in a manufacturing plant environment, supporting the assembly floor with typical machine shop and mold press operations. The Machine Operator Setup is responsible for operating machinery, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment. The position requires a team player attitude, the ability to follow instructions, and adaptability to a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

  • Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks.
  • Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to machine set-up.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend, climb, and squat for prolonged periods.
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • A good attitude and common sense required.
  • Must be a team player and work well with others.
  • Able to understand and follow instructions/directions.
  • Must be available to work weekends and/or overtime.
  • Must be able to work and concentrate in a noisy environment.
  • Ability to wear protective equipment such as earplugs, safety glasses, gloves, boots, respirators, etc.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Minimum 1 year of factory-related experience.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma/GED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily functions as explained and demonstrated by lead man/supervisor within allocated time per company standards.
  • Perform typical machine shop and mold press operations to support the assembly floor.
  • Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the P.M. charts.
  • Perform milling, turning, drilling, taping, de-burring, molding, and all bench operations and inspect.
  • Observe and act upon machine malfunction warnings and alarm signals.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Comply with all work-related activities in a fair, ethical, and consistent manner.
  • Be a productive, proactive, and contributing team member in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adhere to all safety standards and company policies, including attending mandatory safety training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
