About The Position

The Machine Operator / Palletizer Operates strapping machines and automatic palletizers; supplies load-building materials; moves loads from work area using fork lift. The Machine Operator / Palletizer will maintain supply of pallets, tier sheets, shrouds, strapping, and other material required for palletizing and strapping ware. They will check for proper application of straps around pallet loads (bulk and cased); place string ties and manually strap when required. This role operates a hi-lift tractor to transport and store materials and loads, and operates automatic palletizer, and automatic strapping machine, to prepare loads of ware. The operator will unjam strapping machine and automatic palletizers as required, and will straighten loads, replace bottles, discard damaged bulking materials, straighten and unjam pallets in hopper. They will check load integrity, take rolls of strapping material (60 lbs) to area, remove and replace spool of strapping material, and check strapper tension with tension meter to make sure load is secured. Using a forklift, they will serve and make sure all shops are supplied with pallets, tier sheets, frames. They will secure and transport resort loads as required, and check oil level in VFC regulators of automatic palletizers. This role places rolls of wrap on stretch-wrapper as required and manually operates stretch wrapper if out of automatic mode. The operator identifies problems with equipment, may make very minor adjustments, and reports malfunction of equipment to Foreman or other designated employee. They may manually palletize loads when automatic equipment malfunctions, and applies bar code tickets to production units, checking for proper printing on carton flaps. Finally, they fill forklift with fuel and fill out mobile equipment inspection sheet for maintenance, and performs clean-up and good housekeeping duties. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Requirements

At least 18 years of age.
High School Graduate or GED.
Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis.
Must be able to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities
