Summary - Job Responsibilities – Activities: Completes extrusion equipment set-ups, start-ups, change-overs and shut-downs, as required by standard operating procedures (SOPs) and production schedules Performs process adjustments as needed to ensure that the product meets dimensional tolerances and visual quality criteria Performs on-line product quality inspections, identifies quality issues, and troubleshoots film extrusion process as necessary Maintains production tooling, dies and other extrusion equipment to ensure best operational condition of the equipment, performs cleaning and light preventive maintenance tasks Fills out process records and daily production logs/reports as required Reports non-conformances and assists Production Management and Process Engineering with technical issues Mentors, supports and assists other extrusion operators Follows plant safety procedures and guidelines; informs supervisor of safety issues; reports any workplace injury or incident immediately; wears and utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Able to document the overall production process including potential defects This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in plastics industry
  • 2-3 years of film / sheet or other melt extrusion experience
  • Web handling experience, such as slitting, winding, or adhesive coating
  • Knowledge of how to drive a fork truck
  • Familiar with an ERP/Shop Floor Entry system
  • Knowledge of quality assurance
  • Familiar with 6S
  • Basic machining skills, mechanical dexterity, problem solving, knowledge of gauging and calibrating process equipment, basic math skills, safety lifts up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities
