About The Position

Under supervision, operate machining equipment safely and effectively, ensuring optimal production flow and product quality while learning all aspects of machining, including the operation and programming of various machines and peripheral equipment. Inspect aluminum castings and machined parts to ensure they meet specifications and applicable work instructions. May perform other machining-related production duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Reading and understanding English language work instructions.
• Some computer use.
• Effective computer experience.
• Independent decision-making.
• Effective self-management.
• One or more years of relevant work experience.
• Manually lift and move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch, and bend.
• Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck.
• Walk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks.
• Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• See, inspect, handle and evaluate product quality.
• Read and understand written English language work instructions.
• Work in non-climate-controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions.
• Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights.
• Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI.
• Wear Protective Footwear.
• Wear Hearing Protection.
• Wear Protective Eyewear.
• Wear Gloves.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent.
• One to three or more years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and proven machine operations and/or mechanical aptitude.
• Basic Math skills.
