About The Position

To operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner while producing a quality product at the required packaging line performance. This role involves operating various filling and production equipment, ensuring safety measures are in place, cleaning and sanitizing lines, troubleshooting, and overseeing assembly lines for quality and quantity. The operator is responsible for maintaining production materials, performing inspections, documenting activities, and ensuring adherence to quality specifications.

Requirements

  • Basic mathematical skills required.
  • Basic Microsoft Office computer knowledge.
  • Must communicate effectively using Basic English communication and written skills.
  • Ability to actively communicate with supervision regarding machine difficulties when required.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, oversee the operation of multiple machines on assigned line.
  • Able to perform complicated machine operation tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Has basic working knowledge and understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
  • Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the field or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training in mechanical machine operations is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Operating Tube Filling lines such as Nordenmatic, Unipac and Axomatic.
  • Operating Simplex & Kalix production equipment in accordance with established SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
  • Ensuring that all appropriate safety measures are in place and tested for proper operation. Operator has authority to stop line if safety violation is detected.
  • Cleaning and sanitization of assigned filling lines.
  • Troubleshooting and minimal change-over of such fillers.
  • Overseeing Assembly lines to monitor quality and quantity.
  • Communicating to supervision when equipment set-up and change-over is needed.
  • Ensuring the supply of production materials to the line to avoid interruption.
  • Performing ongoing inspections of in process production to ensure machines are properly working to maximum efficiency.
  • Assessing and identifying any machine performance or safety issues and seeking mechanical help for proper resolution through inspections, tests, and adjustments to meet standards of machine performance.
  • Maintaining all necessary production and quality paperwork to ensure proper documentation of the line activity.
  • Maintaining a clean and orderly work environment in and around the packaging line.
  • Performing daily housekeeping maintenance of equipment to minimize possible contamination.
  • Working with line mechanics to ensure minimal “line down time” for mechanical difficulties.
  • Collecting data regarding line speeds, writing pallet tickets when required, and overseeing line crew if necessary.
  • Palletizing line product when required.
  • Ensuring that all Quality specifications/and or Quality tests outlined are being followed. Operator has authority to stop line if Quality Issue arises.
  • Attending departmental meetings and providing training as required to lower-level operators.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.
