About The Position

The Machine Operator III is an experienced position responsible for operating mid-to-high complex machinery under minimal supervision. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting non-routine machine issues, and supporting the training of new operators. This individual is responsible for advanced CNC operations, developing process improvements, and overseeing machine setups with precision while upholding safety and quality protocols. This position plays a vital role in driving production efficiency, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of machine operating or manufacturing experience, or equivalent on-the-job training with demonstrated proficiency in operating mid-to-high complex machinery.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
  • ITAR Requirement
  • Some positions will require current U.S. Citizenship due to contract requirements.
  • Applicants will be asked to provide specific documentation to verify U.S. person status under the ITAR and the EAR.

Responsibilities

  • Operating mid-to-high complex machinery following standard instructions and adjusting settings for variations.
  • Training and guiding junior operators on complex machine functions.
  • Resolving non-routine machine issues using extensive operational knowledge.
  • Recommending improvements to machine efficiency and maintenance schedules and workflow adjustments to meet production demands.
  • Developing a full understanding of software to support advanced programming and setup tasks.
  • Performing part setup and tooling setup, ensuring machines are correctly configured, including tool calibration, material loading and alignment to tolerances.
  • Documenting machine performance and reporting findings, maintaining logs of operational status and reporting irregularities to lead or supervisor for review.
  • Reading and comprehending technical drawings to understand machining requirements and ensure alignment with production goals.
  • Conducting in-process inspections to monitor product quality, identifying issues like improper cuts, insulation damage, misalignment, etc. and making necessary adjustments or tool changes to maintain quality standards.
  • Assisting in loading and unloading raw materials into machines, verifying quantities and types against documentation under minimal oversight.
  • Cleaning and maintaining equipment under minimal supervision.
  • Maintaining an organized work area by keeping aisles clear, properly storing materials, and adhering to safety and organizational standards.
  • Following all safety protocols and participating in safety training sessions.
  • Following safety protocols by wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training to prevent workplace hazards.
