About The Position
The State Farmers Market in Raleigh is a bustling, state-owned marketplace open seven days a week, 364 days a year. Home to year-round tenants and hundreds of growers from across NC and neighboring states, the Market offers fresh produce, plants, meats, and a wide variety of local agricultural goods. This position plays a key role in keeping the market beautiful, safe, and running smoothly. Responsibilities include maintaining the grounds through mowing, pruning, fertilizing, and spraying; ensuring top-tier cleanliness and sanitation; operating and maintaining equipment; performing building repairs; and supporting the overall safety and daily operations that make the market a welcoming place for all. Position may include night, weekend, and/or holiday work.
Requirements
- Ability to perform physical labor for 8 hours and to work in various weather conditions
- Possess good verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and with co-workers
- Ability to work with the general public
- Ability to work on assigned duties and tasks
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must possess necessary licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment
