About The Position

The Router Operator is responsible for safely operating router machinery to cut and shape plywood and other wood materials according to production requirements. This role requires proper machine setup, the ability to follow production schedules and detailed instructions, and strong attention to quality and safety. The Router Operator is also responsible for maintaining an organized work area and supporting overall production flow within the department.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Ability to follow detailed verbal and written instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate production equipment
  • Ability and willingness to learn additional tasks and equipment within the department
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, squat, reach, push, and pull for the duration of the shift
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to push and pull materials as required
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Required personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn, including but not limited to: Safety glasses (face shield as required), Hearing protection, High-visibility clothing, Gloves (not required during cutting), Safety toe footwear
  • Required to participate in daily stretching exercises as part of the company’s safety and wellness program.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Demonstrate professionalism and accountability in all job duties
  • Work cooperatively as part of a team
  • Maintain housekeeping standards within assigned work areas
  • Immediately report safety concerns, incidents, or operational issues to the Shift Supervisor

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate router machinery to cut and shape plywood and other wood materials according to production requirements
  • Properly set up and prepare router machinery before beginning production
  • Read and follow production schedules, work orders, and instructions to ensure materials are cut according to specifications
  • Inspect materials and completed products to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely in accordance with company procedures
  • Use basic power tools and equipment, including power guns and drills, as required
  • Load, position, and handle materials required for production
  • Maintain awareness of machine operation and immediately report equipment malfunctions or operational concerns to supervision
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company housekeeping standards
  • Assist with preparing and cutting cardboard tubes, wood pieces, and other materials using approved equipment and machinery as assigned
  • Learn and perform additional secondary tasks within the Plywood Department as required
  • Support overall production flow and assist other team members when necessary
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
