Machine Operator II - Hartford Thread Roller
About The Position
The Machine Operator II role is responsible for maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. This position involves operating various machines, making minor adjustments as needed, and performing preventative maintenance. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work area, performing minor repairs, and inspecting work in progress to ensure quality and adherence to close tolerances. Adaptability to cell and team concepts, cross-training, and assisting other operators are also key aspects of this role. The position requires the ability to operate a forklift and perform other assigned duties.
Requirements
- Must be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, specification sheets, and/or mechanical drawings and in precision measurement or become proficient through training.
- Computer literacy
- Capable of using measuring instruments, i.e. micrometer, calipers, height gauge, etc.
- Capable of using hand tools (i.e. screwdriver, wrenches etc.)
- Ability to read and write, perform basic arithmetic and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Minimum (2) years of experience operating production machinery in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Operate various machines within the cell
- Makes minor adjustment as necessary or notify Lead person or Setup person if a more significant adjustment is required
- Maintains a clean machine and organized work area.
- Performs preventative maintenance including lubricating machines when needed
- Makes minor repairs and notifies maintenance for other maintenance needs.
- Performs variety of tasks such as counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, transferring of parts
- Use measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances
- Follows schedules and procedures
- Adaptable to cell and team concepts as well as cross-training
- Sees that all safety guards are in place and in good condition
- Assists other operators if necessary
- Inspects work in progress using equipment necessary and outlined in Quality or work instructions. Responsible for quality of own work
- Forklift (i.e. powered industrial truck) operation.
- All other duties as assigned
