Machine Operator II
About The Position
Responsible for loading materials into machines for production, adjusting machine speeds during production and inspecting the objects produced. This role involves operating automated component placement machines, setting up and adjusting machines, performing component setup, and using computers for programming and other machine functions. The operator will also apply basic computer skills for inventory inquiries, identify component types and their polarity, troubleshoot and perform minor repairs, handle moisture-sensitive devices, identify work orders and assembly details, disposition non-conforming material, perform first piece inspections, pull parts from stock, clean and maintain machines, and adjust them for optimal performance. Safety is a core responsibility, requiring adherence to all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and procedures, including wearing PPE and reporting unsafe conditions. This position requires access to information subject to ITAR regulations, necessitating U.S. person status.
Requirements
- Must be certified in J Standard and IPC.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be a U.S. person within the meaning of ITAR (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee).
Responsibilities
- Operate Automated component placement machines, which includes understanding the sequence of events, the control panel and indicators, and component replenishment
- Set-up machines, make adjustments and perform component set-up
- Complete machine adjustments per the Manufacturing Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
- Use the computer to load programs and perform other functions on the machines
- Apply basic computer user for finding stock locations, part availability, and “where used” inquiries
- Identify different component types and their polarity/orientation requirements
- Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs for normal functioning
- Follow procedures for handling and storing moisture sensitive devices (MSDs)
- Identify work order, assembly number, and revision level of assembly from manufacturing instructions
- Disposition NCM per appropriate procedures
- Perform 1st piece work inspection of team members
- Pull parts from stockroom and overflow locations based on pick list
- Perform troubleshooting for normal functioning
- Utilize SDS sheets to review safety requirements
- General machine cleaning and upkeep and adjust machine for optimum performance
