About The Position
BlueScope Coated Products is seeking a Machine Operator I (Prime Coater Operator) to operate the Prime Coater machine. This role is responsible for setting up the Coater, measuring painting parameters, adjusting the Coater, performing roll changes, cleaning equipment, moving paint drums, measuring and documenting paint usage, and entering data into Oracle. The company is a leading coil coating company in the United States with a strong presence in the construction and consumer product markets.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED)
- One year of Manufacturing Experience
- Knowledge of basic hand and power tools
- Basic computer skills
- Time Management – prioritizing work to meet internal and/or external customer demands
- Detail Oriented – ensures accuracy of product and documentation to meet internal and/or external customer demands
- Good communication skills
Nice To Haves
- 6+ months of experience operating mobile equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Mobile equipment operations skills
Responsibilities
- Operating the Prime Coater machine
- Setting up the Coater
- Measuring painting parameters (wet film thickness, viscosity, temperature, roll speeds)
- Adjusting the Coater following direction from QC Lab Tech
- Performing roll changes
- Cleaning painting equipment
- Moving paint drums in and out of the coater room
- Measuring and documenting paint usage information
- Entering data into Oracle
