About The Position

The Machine Operator I - 2nd Shift position is located at Eaton's ES GEIS BLD division in Troy, IL. The core hours are Monday - Friday, 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m., with potential for mandatory overtime. The starting hourly rate is $24.87/hr plus a $0.50 shift differential, with a wage progression to $26.61 per hour after 10 months. Salary is based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions.

Requirements

A minimum of 6 months Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position.
No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Troy, IL will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 2 years of Machine Operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience reading blueprints, schematics or technical manuals.
Experience with calibration equipment such as calipers.
Prior SAP experience
Proficient with basic computer applications.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
Ability to be self-driven

Responsibilities

Operate sheet metal fabrication machines
Read shop orders
Read and understand engineering drawings
Perform quality checks
Use calibration equipment such as calipers or any other necessary equipment
Work with flat sheet metal (steel and aluminum)
Run various machine operations including brake press, hammer flanger, buffalo roller, hand scribing, and hand sheering
