About The Position

As a successful Machine Operator (Fabricator), you will be responsible for all aspects of fabrication, including, but not limited to loading and unloading raw materials and work-in-process parts in a variety of tooling, fixtures, and equipment as needed to meet the needs of our customer. Reviewing blueprints and other technical drawings to ensure proper transformations (cuts, bends, holes, etc) are performed on raw and WIP materials. You will work directly with the facilities and maintenance team to ensure equipment and tools are well-maintained and operating optimally. Additionally, you will ensure all parts fabricated are done so to our quality standards and product specifications. In parallel with the physical fabrication of parts, continuously reviewing processes and proposing improvements to best serve our customers will be your focus. Key Success Factors? Technical Fabrication & Equipment Mastery - Skillfully operate saws, presses, drills, and other fabrication equipment to transform raw materials and sub-assemblies while following technical drawings and maintaining established cycle times to consistently produce high-quality fabricated components across light gauge to heavy gauge materials. Safety Leadership & Production Excellence - Champion fabrication department safety by completing assigned safety projects and maintaining high safety standards for the team while consistently achieving hourly and daily productivity and quality targets through effective process execution and attention to detail. Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration - Apply mechanical aptitude and lean manufacturing principles to identify process improvements and kaizen opportunities while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills, effective communication, and collaborative teamwork to drive business results and support customer success in demanding fabrication environments.

Requirements

  • 0 to 3 years of industrial fabrication, ranging from light gauge to heavy gauge materials (metal fabrication preferred, but not required)
  • Open to learning kaizen / continuous improvement techniques and works to accomplish projects with a lean manufacturing mindset
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in either a work or academic environment
  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in demanding (physical and mental) situations

Nice To Haves

  • High School graduate or equivalent
  • Trade school certificate in related field

Responsibilities

  • Transforms various materials and sub-assemblies using saws, presses, drills and other equipment in accordance with technical drawings, within established cycle times, and at a high level of quality
  • Responsible for safety in the fabrication department. Completes safety projects as assigned and holds a high safety standard for the team
  • Ensures targets for Productivity and Quality are met on an hourly and daily basis
