The Machine Operator I is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building parts. This role operates in a fast-paced production setting, with an emphasis on safety and quality, and performs routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation. The operator will also be responsible for marking part numbers, order numbers, and the number of pieces on parts, attaching identification tags as required, and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semi-finished parts. Continuous improvement practices in the work area are expected, along with providing cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste. The role involves utilizing scanning equipment, inspecting work visually for defects according to Quality Systems, reading a tape measure, writing, and following posted schedules. Teamwork and prioritizing safety are essential. May be assigned other projects and duties as designated by Team Leader. Willingness and ability to work overtime is required.
