About The Position

The Hornet Burner Table Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the CNC cutting table (Hornet Burner Table) used to cut steel parts for dump truck bodies and components. This role includes reading work orders and blueprints, loading raw material, setting up the table, performing cuts, and ensuring high-quality output according to specifications.

• Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of burner table and associated equipment
• Identifying and reporting equipment malfunctions or material inconsistencies
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Communicating with Crew Leaders and team members
• Assisting with Lean and continuous improvement efforts

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Hornet CNC burner table.
• Interpret work orders, blueprints, and cut lists to select correct material and cutting program.
• Load and unload steel plates using overhead cranes or forklifts.
• Program or load appropriate CNC files and verify cutting paths before execution.
• Monitor machine during cutting operations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and dimensional accuracy using measuring tools.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of burner table and associated equipment.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or material inconsistencies.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company standards and OSHA guidelines.
• Communicate with Crew Leaders and team members to meet production goals and schedules.
• Assist with Lean and continuous improvement efforts related to material flow and cutting efficiency.
