About The Position

The Machine Operator, Forging Press is responsible for operating the press to form products using billets and die blocks according to established standard work for production purposes. This role reports directly to the area Supervisor. Performs basic machining functions to produce parts. Operates multiple machines simultaneously. Monitors the machine to ensure proper program performance. Completes shop work orders, inspection documentation, and daily maintenance sheets. Makes off sets and adjustments to machines with moderate supervision. Advocates for the health and safety of self, co-workers, customers, and the community. Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS). Completes all required training. Trouble shoot/problem solve die issues. Produce parts to manufacturing or customer prints with minimal supervision. Identify visual and dimensional defects. Complete dimensional inspection, first piece layout and all IPIS inspections. Understanding of water to graphite ratio. Set up of press within stated time. Make sure work environment remains safe, uncluttered, clean and well-maintained by performing maintenance and general janitorial duties throughout shift per the 6S schedule. Perform other duties as required or directed by the Department Supervisor or Lead.

Requirements

  • 1+ Years of Experience Operating Machining Equipment in a Manufacturing Environment (Preferred)
  • Working Experience in Problem Solving
  • Working Experience in Machine Set Up
  • Working Experience in Visual Quality Assurance
  • Working Experience in GD&T
  • Working Experience in Blueprint Reading
  • Basic Knowledge of Information Processing
  • Working Experience in Quality Inspection
  • Working Experience with Metrology Tools
  • Working Experience in Accuracy and Attention to Detail
  • Basic Knowledge of Handwriting
  • Working Experience in Data Entry
  • Basic Knowledge of Mathematical Ability
