About The Position

This is a machine operator/floater position in a climate-controlled environment. The role involves helping cover breaks, troubleshooting technical issues, and using hand tools. An eye exam is required, and the candidate must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. The position focuses on setting up, operating, optimizing, changing over, troubleshooting, and maintaining assigned departmental production equipment. The responsibilities include meeting production standards, maintaining product quality, minimizing equipment downtime, and sustaining budgeted waste levels.

  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance.
  • Knowledge of basic pneumatics, electrical, electronic, and hydraulics.
  • Knowledge of proper use of tools, proper troubleshooting, and set up procedures.
  • Ability to ensure proper functioning of machines and control panel.
  • Ability to monitor/replenish component inventories.
  • Ability to ensure safety guards are in position and functional.
  • Ability to check and clean part tracks.
  • Ability to notify material handler when part supplies run low.
  • Ability to maintain accurate production and downtime records.
  • Ability to maintain a neat and orderly production environment.
  • Ability to continually monitor in-process quality and address issues.
  • Ability to perform and document required Q.C. checks.
  • Ability to run required process challenges.
  • Ability to observe all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements (QSR).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
  • Eye exam is required.

Responsibilities

  • Has detailed operational knowledge of the equipment to operate within specified quality/quantity limits.
  • Sets up and debugs equipment according to specifications, plant policies, and Department Procedures, clearing deviations with supervisor or Engineering.
  • Maintains equipment in working order by adjusting, troubleshooting, cleaning, and repairing as necessary to produce product within specified quality and quantity limits.
  • Maintains equipment logs, recording pertinent information about downtime and maintenance problems with clear and legible handwriting.
  • Repairs equipment within capability and reports major problems to supervisor; assists Manufacturing Technician, Engineering, and Maintenance Department in major repairs.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as specified in the plant preventative maintenance (PM) program or as needed for efficient operation.
  • Starts up equipment and ensures proper functioning of machines and control panel.
  • Monitors/replenishes component inventories and ensures all safety guards are in position and functional.
  • Checks and cleans part tracks to ensure free travel of all component parts.
  • Notifies material handler if part supplies run low.
  • Maintains accurate production and downtime records (logbooks).
  • Maintains a neat and orderly production environment.
  • Continually monitors in-process quality, addressing issues as needed to prevent product holds.
  • Performs and documents all required Q.C. checks and runs all required process challenges.
  • Observes all safety and environmental procedures and Quality System Requirements (QSR).
