About The Position

The Machine Operator - Draw (Bull Block Operator) is dedicated to continuous improvement and responsible for operating and overseeing bull block machines. The role involves setting up and monitoring assigned machines, producing wire to order requirements, identifying and correcting operational problems, and supporting other bull block department and plant activities. The operator must follow safety procedures, maintain an orderly work area, and be able to work overtime.

Requirements

High school graduate or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, follow instructions, use simple math, and use basic handheld measuring tools.
Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently with little supervision.
Ability to see color changes for testing purposes.
Basic computer skills using Windows applications.
Troubleshooting skills.
Self-motivated.
Clear communication skills.
Ability to perform multiple tasks.
Detail-oriented.
Team player.
Forklift experience.
Ability to work overtime.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate assigned bull block machine(s).
Monitor machine speed, coating level, and wire surface quality.
Use production tools and equipment, including a micrometer, pointer, welder, overhead crane, wire tensile tester, and in-line cleaner.
Complete appropriate paperwork during the wire production process.
Determine order requirements and adjust the production process accordingly.
Perform preventative maintenance activities.
Perform shipping and receiving duties.
Identify and correct problems in bull block operation.
Communicate production changes and problems to appropriate personnel or departments.
Assist other areas in the bull block department as needed.
Train other employees.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and plant, and assist with general plant cleaning such as floor sweeping and painting.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Operate forklifts and other equipment properly and safely.
