Machine Operator Die Cast - 1st and 2nd Shift (37698)
About The Position
Associates are required to operate die cast machines, trim presses, and all related equipment. Demonstrate the ability to perform basic quality checks and document performance on an hourly basis. Follow and adhere to safety regulations regarding the safe operation of die casting and trimming equipment. This role involves reading and comprehending standardized work instructions, completing production goals, diagnosing and performing minor repairs on machinery, operating specific equipment like ladles and recip, visually inspecting for defects, accurately entering data into production software, detecting and reporting improper operations or faulty equipment, learning new tasks and adapting to job duty changes, completing daily paperwork, and maintaining a clean work area. The position also requires compliance with company policies, participation in continuous improvement activities, teamwork, and communication with colleagues and supervisors. The ability to work in other classifications or departments as needed is also a requirement.

- Ability to frequently and repetitively lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to periodically carry or lift materials weighing up to 50lbs.
- Recognizes potential exposure to environmental, mechanical, chemical, electrical, and explosive hazards.

Responsibilities
- Operate die cast machines, trim presses, and related equipment.
- Perform basic quality checks and document performance hourly.
- Follow and adhere to safety regulations.
- Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures.
- Complete tasks and targeted production goals (scrap/uptime) daily.
- Diagnose and perform minor repairs on die cast and trim press machines, and robot gripper systems.
- Put robot in auto mode.
- Maneuver through Panel View on auto trim presses.
- Operate ladle and recip.
- Visually inspect for defects following established procedures.
- Accurately enter data into production software and quality systems.
- Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions.
- Learn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes, including cross-training and working on multiple machines.
- Properly complete daily paperwork.
- Maintain clean and orderly work area consistent with safety and work rules.
- Work safely around and/or while operating heavy equipment or manufacturing machinery.
- Work overtime hours as required and be available for emergency overtime.
- Comply with all company employment policies, procedures/processes, and programs.
- Perform duties in compliance with quality, safety policies, procedures/processes, and programs.
