The Machine Operator - Cortex produces world-class products for OMG using safe machine operating techniques and effective lean manufacturing principles. This key position configures and operates stamping presses to produce parts according to specifications and Kanban card requirements, requiring a team player committed to delivering high-quality products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Capable of using standard tools and measurement devices such as scales and rulers.
  • Ability to interpret safety instructions, job orders, quality specifications, and other related documents.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong math and mechanical reasoning skills.
  • Ability to contribute as part of a team.
  • Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills.
  • Positive can-do attitude.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a stamping press, turret or punch press operation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
  • Set up presses, observe machine operation, and inspect work product to ensure machining conforms to specifications.
  • Read job orders for product and job specifications such as calibrations, dimensions, tolerances, parts to be run, or special manufacturing instructions.
  • Select and adjust press controls and tooling to conform to the production run sheet, including speeds and feed rates.
  • Perform routine lubrication and preventative maintenance inspections as required.
  • Assist other Stamping Operators to set up the machine, and stack, mark, pack, and transport finished work pieces.
  • Maintain a neat and well-organized work area.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.
