About The Position

This role involves assisting in fabricating outer caps or mounting tires under the direction of a Coordinator or Supervisor. The Machine Operator Coordinator is responsible for ensuring equipment is in safe operating condition, performing routine maintenance, and operating machinery safely and efficiently to produce required parts. The position also focuses on reducing scrap, improving quality, and accurately completing paperwork while complying with OSHA standards. Communication with supervisors regarding quality, concerns, and delays is essential, as is maintaining an orderly and safe work environment. Suggestions for improvement and adherence to Wabash Values and Leadership Principles are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High school degree or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Basic reading/writing and verbal skills.
  • General computer skills (Excel and Word).
  • Ability to read and use tape measure, calipers, and gauging equipment.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Perform work at a quality level that meets or exceeds Wabash and ISO standards.
  • Ensure a "Winning Together" mentality.
  • Share information with others to help them perform their responsibilities safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment before work to ensure safe operating condition and completion of preventative maintenance.
  • Perform routine maintenance as required.
  • Obtain necessary materials, parts, and tools.
  • Set up, adjust, and operate equipment safely, efficiently, and accurately.
  • Work to reduce scrap and improve quality.
  • Check work to ensure it meets specifications and tolerances.
  • Accurately complete all required paperwork.
  • Comply with OSHA Standards.
  • Keep Supervisor or Coordinator informed of quality problems, concerns, or delays.
  • Advise Supervisor of any maintenance work.
  • Maintain an orderly and safe work environment.
  • Suggest methods for cost reduction and quality improvement.
  • Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Demonstrate and embrace Wabash Values and Leadership Principles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
