Requirements

• Strong knowledge of computer-controlled machinery in a production environment.
• Good organizational, mechanical and time management skills.
• Excellent math skills (ability to read a ruler and/or caliper, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using numbers, common fractions and decimals).
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented within a team environment.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Self-motivated, with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime as required.
• High School Diploma or GED.

• Prior experience on bindery and/or finishing equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain automated perfect binder, flatbed cutter, case making and casing-in equipment to production standards and quality.
• Analyze and interpret job jackets and print-on-demand sheets to understand customer needs and communicate instructions to co-workers.
• Cross train to assist on the softcover perfect binding equipment.
• Constantly monitor quality of finished product to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Perform technical maintenance of the machinery and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain accurate record keeping on TSP timesheets and logbooks, and utilize corresponding digital software systems.
• Accurately communicate job status to the next shift and other co-workers.
• Operate hand jack to move work throughout the department and deliver completed work to the shipping area.
• Assist with housekeeping in the bindery area.
• Perform job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees, following required safety procedures (PPE, Ergonomics, etc.).
• Willingness to cross train in multiple job functions.
• Other duties as assigned.
