Machine Operator/Attendant
About The Position
Johns Manville is seeking a full-time Machine Operator/Attendant at their Penbryn location in Berlin, NJ. This role involves manufacturing fiberglass building insulation for residential and commercial industries. The Machine Operator/Attendant will be responsible for operating packaging equipment, performing quality control inspections, and problem-solving to ensure the safe and smooth operation of people, equipment, and product. The position requires the ability to work any shift, including rotating, weekends, holidays, and overtime, on a 28-day working cycle. Key responsibilities include adhering to safe work practices, following all safety rules and procedures, reporting hazardous conditions, and participating in safety programs. Employees are required to wear all necessary personal protective equipment, which may include protective shoes, glasses, ear plugs, bump cap or hard hat, gloves, dust mask, or respirator.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions
- Ability to work flexible rotating shifts (Dupont Schedule)
- Regularly required to stand and walk
- Occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and communicate accurately with coworkers
- Frequently engage in repetitive motions
- Frequently lift, push or pull 50 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance
- Visual acuity is required to work around and with machinery including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
- Incumbent must be physically able to perform essential job functions
