About The Position

This role provides continuous machine support by monitoring primary and secondary equipment for uptime, efficiency, and safety. The Machine Operator Level 2 understands the impact of machine downtime on production and resolves ongoing machine-related problems such as full bowls, restarting machines, grinder jams, color changes, and purge removal. They perform beginner-level preventative maintenance tasks, supply materials to presses, and restart injection machines for mold protects, demonstrating intermediate troubleshooting skills. They are also responsible for assessing issues beyond mold protect for root cause and fixing minor cosmetic defects. Additionally, they maintain proper documentation for all materials and machines, perform line clearances, color changes, and production requirement changes, and total scrap at the end of the shift. The role includes performing quality checks every two hours and supporting all company policies, including ISO/SQF Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and Standard Work Procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Provides continuous machine support by continuously monitoring primary and secondary equipment for uptime efficiency and equipment safety.
  • Understands MEEF impact to effectively communicate to Production Supervisor repetitive breakdowns.
  • Resolves ongoing machine related problems (full bowls, closing machine restarts, grinder jams and color changes, purge removal from nozzle leaks).
  • Performs beginner-level preventative maintenance tasks (repairing conveyor, material jam, cleaning filters).
  • Performs material changeovers (ie, color changes, additives, etc.).
  • Supply materials to the presses.
  • Restarts Injection Machines for mold protects, intermediate troubleshooting skills.
  • Assess beyond mold protect for root cause.
  • Fix minor cosmetic issues (burns, string flash).
  • Maintains proper documentation for all materials and machines.
  • Line clearances.
  • Color changes.
  • Production Requirements changes.
  • Total the scrap at end of the shift.
  • 2 hour quality checks.
  • Supports and maintains all policies of the company including but not limited to: ISO/SQF Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, Standard work procedures.
