About The Position

This role provides continuous machine support by monitoring primary and secondary equipment for uptime, efficiency, and safety. The Machine Operator 2 resolves ongoing machine-related problems, performs beginner-level preventative maintenance, and handles material changeovers. They are responsible for maintaining proper documentation related to materials and machines, including line clearances, color changes, production requirement changes, and scrap totals. This position also supports and maintains all company policies, including ISO/SQF Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and Standard Work Procedures.

Requirements

  • Understands MEEF impact to effectively communicate to Production Supervisor repetitive breakdowns.
  • Intermediate troubleshooting skills.
  • Machine Operators Level 2 are not authorized to perform start up after a set up.
  • Maintains proper documentation for all materials and machines.
  • Supports and maintains all policies of the company including but not limited to: ISO/SQF Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, Standard work procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitoring primary and secondary equipment for uptime, efficiency, and safety.
  • Communicating repetitive breakdowns to the Production Supervisor.
  • Resolving ongoing machine-related problems such as full bowls, closing machine restarts, grinder jams, color changes, and purge removal from nozzle leaks.
  • Performing beginner-level preventative maintenance tasks including repairing conveyors, addressing material jams, and cleaning filters.
  • Performing material changeovers, including color changes and additive changes.
  • Supplying materials to the presses.
  • Restarting Injection Machines for mold protects and performing intermediate troubleshooting.
  • Assessing beyond mold protect for root cause analysis.
  • Fixing minor cosmetic issues like burns and string flash.
  • Maintaining proper documentation for all materials and machines, including line clearances, color changes, production requirements changes, and total scrap at the end of the shift.
  • Conducting 2-hour quality checks.
  • Supporting and maintaining all company policies, including ISO/SQF Standards, Health and Safety Requirements, Continuous Improvement, and Standard work procedures.
