About The Position

The Machine Operator 2 is responsible for the manufacturing, sanding, and finishing of elevator wall panels prior to shipment to installation sites. This role requires hands-on experience with woodworking equipment, surface preparation, and wood finishing techniques to ensure high-quality, consistent products that meet company and customer specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in woodworking, manufacturing, or a related field
• Experience with sanding techniques and equipment
• Knowledge of wood finishing processes and materials
• Ability to operate and maintain woodworking machinery safely
• Strong attention to detail and quality craftsmanship
• Spray Systems experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods

Nice To Haves

• Experience in architectural millwork or panel manufacturing
• Familiarity with elevator interior systems or similar products
• Understanding of finishing systems such as spray application or automated finishing lines

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machinery and equipment to cut, shape, and assemble elevator wall components
• Perform sanding processes (manual and machine) to achieve smooth, defect-free surfaces
• Ensure consistent color and quality of paint and primer application
• Inspect materials and finished products for defects, ensuring adherence to quality standards
• Follow production schedules and meet daily output targets
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and report any mechanical issues
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and specifications
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve processes and efficiency
