About The Position

This is an AWW1 Shift position: Friday - Sunday 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. The Machine Operator 1 role involves operating a variety of production machines and performing routine operations on the production line to produce blades and/or vanes. This position requires shift work and the ability to work overtime when needed. The operator will train on the job to become proficient and certified in performing operations in a portion of a standard work loop required in coatings, grinding, hole drilling, or finishing of turbine airfoils. The operator will follow work instructions, demonstrate understanding of quality and production, and possess broad knowledge of machine shop practices, methods, and techniques. This includes knowledge of cutting qualities of metal, machining, fabrication, and tooling. The role requires working from drawings and sketches, using advanced shop mathematics, and a variety of precision measuring instruments, including decimals and fractions. Knowledge of machining methods is also required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Previous Manufacturing experience or education or Advanced Manufacturing Certification

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years Machine Operator or Manufacturing Experience
