About The Position

This position is responsible for making batter for different products and filling breading machines with the correct ingredients. The role involves working in a fast-paced environment and requires attention to detail, the ability to work rapidly with a high degree of accuracy, and reliability. The Machine Operator 1 will follow specific product specifications, operate machinery, troubleshoot issues, and maintain production flow.

  • Lifting, pulling, and/or carrying up to 50 pounds for a distance up to 6ft.
  • Will be exposed to loud industrial type environments commonly found at plants.
  • Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold.

Responsibilities

  • Use Product Vision specs to read for the product for that day on how to find the correct materials for each product.
  • Using both hands, open bags of dry batter mix weighing up to 50 pounds and mix all ingredients to specifications per Product Vision in the Pro-mixer/Wilevco.
  • Set the viscosity in the Pro-mixer/Wilevco.
  • Add dry breading to breader machines per Product Vision specs.
  • Keep batter applicators and breading machines filled at all times.
  • Troubleshoot for breading coverage and mechanical issues.
  • Assist line lead in setting belt speeds and feed screw speeds, hook up sprayers for barrier spray.
  • Measure ingredients and complete all paperwork.
  • Scan all materials from and to work orders.
  • Train backup personnel.
  • Follows established equipment Lockout/Tagout procedures as required.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations per established company policies.
  • Bring any quality problems to the attention of the Lead/Manager/Supervisor.
  • Bring any machinery problems to the attention of the Maintenance Team/Lead.
  • Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and horseplay.
  • Use proper lifting techniques.
  • Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift).
  • Use personal assistance (buddy).
  • Use handrails.
  • Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
