About The Position

Erias Ventures is seeking a Research Scientist to investigate, analyze, and review Artificial Intelligence (AI) Analytics for research, development, and realized solutions to support the exploitation of the extraordinary volume and variety of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) communications and Cybersecurity. The role involves analyzing data and creating research prototypes. Under supervision, the candidate will research and develop technically complex AI efforts, performing research, design, development, and implementation activities under the routine direction of more senior technical staff. With minimal supervision, the candidate will resolve complex AI technical problems by applying advanced principles and Research and Development (R&D) techniques. This job also offers telework once the candidate is familiar with the environment.

Requirements

A current Top-Secret/SCI with polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.
Fourteen (14) years' experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
Four additional (4) years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Comfortable with the research environment.
Knowledge of and experience with current Machine Learning and Machine Translation technologies.
Understanding of the encoder/decoder transformer architecture.
Experience working with modern text processing pipelines.
Understanding of text encoding vectors.
Understanding of the differences between transformer architectures (like Marian) and Large Language Models.
Be able to explain the strengths and weaknesses of these two related architectures for Machine Translation.
Experienced in Python, C/C++.

Responsibilities

Investigate, analyze, and review Artificial Intelligence (AI) Analytics for the research, development, and realized solutions to support the exploitation of the extraordinary volume and variety of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) communications and Cybersecurity.
Analyzes data and creates research prototypes.
Research and develops technically complex AI efforts.
Performs research, design, development, and implementation activities for technically complex AI efforts under the routine direction of more senior technical staff.
Resolves complex AI technical problems by applying advanced principles and Research and Development (R&D) techniques.
Resolves highly complex AI business and managerial problems.
Evaluate new tools and techniques related to Machine Translation (MT).
Propose and implement enhancements to MT tools and processing flow.
Experience working with Docker, defining, building, and testing containers for deployment.
