About The Position
This position is contingent upon contract award. We are currently pursuing a proposal and are seeking qualified candidates to include in our submission and identify candidates for future hiring needs on the program once awarded. For this position, we are seeking a talented individual to join AIS as a Senior Data Analytics Engineer. As your initial project assignment, you will support the unique needs of our client as a Machine Learning Engineer. AIS is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for an AI Engineering contract supporting a federal customer in a hybrid role in the DC/Maryland/Virginia (DMV) area.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or closely related degree).
- At least 3 years of experience in Software Development, Machine Learning, and/or AI Engineering.
- Must have hands-on experience with Python, Python DS Tech Stack (tensorflow, scikit-learn, pandas, etc.), Kubernetes, Postgres, and Docker.
- Must have a strong Python background.
- Must have a proven track record of building data pipelines, managing the full data lifecycle, and developing and deploying software into production in government environments.
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance.
Nice To Haves
- A certification in Data Science, AI, or another related certification is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy software into production in government environments.
- Build data pipelines and manage the full data lifecycle.
- Optimizes complex SQL; applies advanced data modeling; leads robust ETL/ELT; uses big data technologies (e.g., Spark); enforces governance; implements ML/predictive solutions; manages scalable pipelines.
- Solves high-complexity integration and performance challenges; runs multiple projects; delivers custom analytics solutions and automation for scale.
- Sets benchmarks for data quality; drives continuous improvement; makes significant technical decisions with minimal oversight.
- Leads cross-functional work; mentors engineers; communicates complex insights to senior leaders; integrates multi-stakeholder feedback.
- Provides strategic consultation, leads client interactions, and advances consulting best practices.
