About The Position

Over the 12-week internship, you will work closely with a mentor to apply computer science practices to real-world engineering challenges. As part of a small team, you will contribute to back-end and front-end development through direct coding, problem-solving, and iterative product building. You will also examine large datasets to inform product development and decision-making, gaining valuable experience in data-driven engineering. Throughout the internship, you will interact with other interns to enhance learning and foster connections. You'll experience Indeed’s engineering culture, which prioritizes autonomy, responsibility, and fast iteration. Additionally, you may also have the opportunity to contribute to open-source technologies and community projects, further developing your technical skills and industry impact.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Master’s or Ph.D. program with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later, pursuing a degree in a technical field
Significant domain knowledge with training, fine-tuning, and evaluating machine learning models.
Knowledge and practical experience working on ML/LLM/Deep Learning models (e.g., Torch, Tensorflow, Huggingface, XGBoost).
Python and SQL programming experience.
Students must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship. The student must have work authorization in the United States at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.

Responsibilities

Develop a variety of models from prototype to production.
Implement best practices for evaluation, monitoring, and Machine Learning Operations (MLOps).
Partner with cross-functional teams on model inference and product applications.
Participate in code review and process innovation for the team's software engineers and Machine Learning Engineers, and document work.
Prioritize technical and product thinking, showing ownership for team priorities and Indeed’s mission to help people get jobs.
