Hiring.Cafe is building a 100x better job search engine that is fast, comprehensive, honest, and actually useful. We index millions of jobs, remove noise, rank what matters, and help people find real opportunities without dark patterns, ads, or pay-to-win placement. We are looking for a Founding Machine Learning / AI Search Engineer to join our team and help millions of people find the perfect job. In 12 months, we grew from 0 to over 1 million monthly active users, so everything you ship goes directly to real people. We are building AI recommender systems, AI browser agents for real-time job scraping, and scalable infrastructure to create a clean, searchable platform. As a core member of the founding team, your engineering, data, and design decisions will directly shape how people find their next chapter.
Requirements
- Ownership, leverage, and responsibility from day one.
- Technically strong with solid fundamentals in programming and systems design.
- Able to learn fast and go deep on unfamiliar problems.
- Obsessive about details, quality, and correctness.
- Relevant experience in one or more of the following: General machine learning background, Large-scale search and ranking systems, ML recommender systems, Retrieval infrastructure, Building LLM Agents.
Responsibilities
- Build AI recommender systems to help people discover opportunities.
- Develop AI browser agents to scrape job data in real-time.
- Contribute to scalable infrastructure for transforming web data into a searchable platform.
- Make engineering, data, and design decisions that shape the product.
