About The Position

This Machine Design Engineer position is a direct hire role for a reputable and growing machine builder in the Grand Haven, MI area. The role involves designing and enhancing machinery using SolidWorks software and offers exciting projects, flexible hours, career advancement opportunities, comprehensive benefits, and more. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Previous experience as a Machine Designer, ideally in material handling, assembly, or automation sectors.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks; familiarity with Inventor, CREO, Pro-E, AutoCAD, or other 3D design software beneficial.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and servos advantageous.
• Strong technical aptitude, team-oriented mindset, and meticulous attention to detail.
• Project Engineering or structural design experience a plus.
• Must be a US citizen or possess a Green Card.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with Inventor, CREO, Pro-E, AutoCAD, or other 3D design software.
• Project Engineering or structural design experience.

Responsibilities

• Create, design, and layout custom automation equipment based on engineering principles and expertise.
• Conceptualize machine designs and select appropriate materials.
• Develop detailed models and drawings using SolidWorks software.
• Size mechanical components such as pumps, gears, pulleys, sheet metal, bearings, hydraulics, pneumatics, and piping.
• Provide support for machine assembly and troubleshooting.
