About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is hiring a Manufacturing Operator for the weekend shift at its onsite North Berwick, Maine location. The role is designed for people with little or no machining or grinding background and provides training to become a Certified Operator. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (three 12-hour shifts), for 36 hours of work with pay for 40 hours. External candidates attend one week of orientation and two weeks of first-shift training with the technical training team. After assignment to a department, training often continues on first shift for three to six months. The operator learns to set up and operate NC milling and grinding machines, vertical turret lathes, or VTCs for routine production work on similar weldments and assemblies.
