About The Position

The Machine Builder role is responsible for constructing machine components and systems, modifying electrical enclosures, aluminum plates, and assembling aluminum extrusion frames. This position requires a strong emphasis on quality and accuracy to ensure efficient completion, minimize scrap, and meet delivery deadlines. A valid driver's license is mandatory, and forklift experience is considered a plus.

Requirements

• 1-3 years machine building experience
• Comfortable and able to work in an industrial environment.
• Good mechanical skills including attention to detail.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical systems.
• Experience using light power tools including drill presses and jigsaws.
• Valid driver's license to deliver and pick up parts from local vendors.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work effectively with little or no supervision.
• Ethical conduct.
• Time management skills and efficiency while maintaining accuracy are key.
• Ability to work successfully in a team environment.
• Able to stand and work for extended periods of time.
• Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach on a daily basis.
• Able to move around in a factory environment sometimes in tight spaces in and around equipment.
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds periodically.

Responsibilities

• Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
• Modifies electrical enclosures using provided drawings and layout templates, including drilling holes and using knockout punches and jigsaws.
• Modifies aluminum plates and builds extrusion frames using provided drawings and layout templates, including drilling and tapping holes.
• Builds machine components and systems utilizing Hydraulic/Pneumatic and Electrical schematics.
• Communicates with peers regarding job status, drawing discrepancies, and job completion.
• Utilizes checklists and open issues lists to ensure complete and quality products.
• Works overtime or adjusts normal shifts as needed based on customer orders, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
• Performs other duties as assigned in a flexible team environment, contributing to various tasks throughout the facility to fulfill customer jobs.
